V članku so predstavljeni osnovni koncepti scintilacijskih detektorjev ter raznolikost tega področja. V članku obravnavamo scintilacijske materiale, njihovo obnašanje in raznovrstnost. Prav tako povemo nekaj o fotopomnoževalkah, ki zaznajo scintilacije in jih ojačajo. Za konec še njuno sklopitev, kar je v končni fazi scintilacijski detektor.
In this article we discuss basic concepts of scintillation detectors and their variety. We discuss different scintillating materials and their behavior. We also address photomultipliers, devices that detect scintillations and amplify the acquired signal. Coupling these materials and photomultipliers results in scintillation detectors.
