Dvobarvni poskusi s kratkoživimi atomskimi stanji

Koncept dvobarvnega poskusa je predstavljen na primeru dipolno prepovedane vzbuditve v dvojno vzbujena stanja helijevega atoma. Da jih dosežemo, izpostavimo atome sočasnima sunkoma svetlobe z ultravijoličnega področja in infrardečega laserja. Opisana sta dva načina, s katerima je mogoče predvideti izid takega poskusa, enačbe zasedenosti stanj (zasedbene enačbe) in metodo gostotnih matrik, ter njune omejitve. Na koncu so predstavljeni še rezultati izračunov z obema metodama ter praktične možnosti izvedbe poskusa.

Two-color experiments on short-lived atomic states

The concept of a two-color experiment is presented through the example of dipole-forbidden excitation to doubly- excited helium states. To achieve those, we expose helium atoms to two simultaneous laser pulses, one from the ultraviolet and the other from the infrared region. This work presents two ways of simulating such an experiment: rate equations and the approach with density matrices, together with their limitations. In the end, the results of both simulations are presented, mentioning also the possibilities of the realization of the described experiment.
